i've got a 12" Kicker L7 and have been happy with it. i pulled it out though because i'm sick of having the loud bass all the time and worrying about it getting stolen.

Nothing that couldn't be compensated with a couple of dummy loads\non-inductive resistors.
The cabinet parameters are more complicated.

MB-Quart mids and highs.

Polk Audio Subs.

12s are going to have lower frequency response than 10s. I had 10s and rap like old-school Bone Thugs and Harmony would never hit the lowest bass notes.

Ah, a thread where I can shine

Check out this website for some boxes for your truck. Subthump.com

12's are as large as you're going to be able to fit in your truck. 12's will play lower and louder than 10's, so if you play a lot of rap 12's are probably what you want.

Any commonly known name brand sub that costs from $50-$100 will likely sound very similar to another in the same setup. If you really want a good deal on some subs and don't care what they look like, check out the EHQS 12's by Elemental Designs. $25 a piece, I would put them up against any Kicker Competition, JL W0, RF Punch, any mainstream entry level sub on the market, and they'll perform as good or better.

Whatever subs you go with, make sure you get the correct impedance to match up to your amp. I looked up your amp and you need subs that are either 2 ohm, 8 ohm, or 4 ohm with dual voice coils (DVC). This is important, as most subs are just plain 4 ohm and if you use those you'll end up only using 1/2 of the power of your amp.

Thanks for the mention. I would say if you want it LOUD, go with 12s. Our ultra deep box will hold some pretty deep 12s. I can even make a whole package out of it for you. If you don't want it quite as loud, we have a nice box that holds two 10s and has an amp shelf in the middle. Both are very popular. It all comes down to user preferences and convenience. I could go on since that is the most popular truck we build for.
