anyone use thier stering wheel controls with a aftermarket deck.
 

thinken about putting this pioneer i have laying around in my ride but dont want to loose the steering wheel controls. I know theres some adapter that i think metra puts out i think its a SWI-8. I havent tried wireing one before and was wandering how it well it works.

You're referring to the SWI-X that is made by PAC. They work very good IMO. The only time I ever have trouble with it is when the sun shines on the LED and/or the face of the HU at just the right angle.
