Amp power wire gauge
Amp power wire gauge
Getting two new amps that both say 8 gauge wire is recommended and im using a 2 farad capacitor with a distribution block top that will accept up to 2 gauge inputs. My current amp says 4 gauge wire is recommended and its less powerful than the new 4ch amp im putting in.
My question is should I just keep the 4 gauge power wire i have funning to the back and run that to the capacitor then run the 8 gauge wire to the amps or should I get some new 2 gauge wire and run that to the back then run 4 gauge (if it fits) to the amps? The distance from the capacitor to the amps will be under a foot probably.

for that setup a 4 ga wire would be fine. hit that to a power distro block and then an 8 ga to each amp. same for the ground. 2 caps sounds a bit excessive. I only recommend 1 farad per 1000 watts being ran, but it's your choice. May want to go with 2 if you have underdrive.
