I purchased a component set which was advertised as utilizing a 6.5" mid bass driver. I know that a 6.5" will work fine in the 6.75" stock locations, so I ordered them, which should be here by the end of the week. I just found out the the woofers are actually 6". Will these work?

What brand and model, need more info? You may need to fab up a little adapter plate, it's not hard using a basic router and a thin piece of MDF.

It's a Cadence CWM6 KIT component set.

I have no idea what a router is, not do I know where to buy MDF. I'm really new at this stuff. I can't spend anymore on it either.

No worries it's a 6 1/2". It should bolt right in. If you can't get it to fit you'll need an adapter for around $5-10 from Best Buy.

Oh and a router is like a dremel on steroids. MDF is what most sub encolsures are made of.

Thanks for the info! I had done some browsing on the web, and a lot of places stated it's a 6" woofer. Whew!

I can't think of a single company that makes a 6" woofer. Focal makes a 7" but that's about it for oddball sizes.

I see people list them like that all the time (see Crutchfield), but I guess they can just use different measuring methods.

I think it's just people being lazy and not wanting to take the extra 4 key strokes to put " 1/2" in there. Man people are lazy

There talking about the woofer itself, that's what they mean by a 6" woofer.

Glad ya got is squared away. And for future refrence, BBY has adapters and spacers, theyre all $12.99. We have adapters for Chrystler/Jeep vehicles, a set to change 4x6's in a Cav/Sunfire to 6.5's, and 2 different 6.5" spacers. 1/2" and 1". Sorry, got a little carried away.

Oh, I see.
Actually, as of now, they sound pretty bad. However, the amp won't be in until later today, and the stock amp obviously can't handle these.
What's funny is that ALL of the wiring diagrams, including the one from my dealership, were wrong. They all show only 2 wires going to eah speaker, but there are actually 4! I didn't realize that the Camaros had a seperate tweeter, like the Firebirds, but i's just mounted above the woofer. They must wire these in parallel, because the speakers are 2 ohms. That caught me off guard.
