I'm looking at this 96 Z vert with the stereo that was stolen. My question is if it has BOSE speakers will it still have an emblem on the grills for you to see ? I guess what I'm asking is do you guys with 96'6 have Bose on your door panel on the grills ? (not sure when they switched to Monsoon). And if you do have BOSE on the panel for pemium sond if this car does not have it then it most not have been equipped right ? This is a 96 Z28 vert I'm looking at with leather and all options that I know of. Is there a way to tell from the back speakers (sub (s)) or anything ? Thanks!

The RPO sticker in the driver's side doorjamb will have all of the option codes. Not sure what the code for Bose was, but it will definitely be listed there if the car was equipped with it originally.

Yeah door & rear sails will not give you any indication.... Only way to know would be to actually pull the speakers.

I think you may be able to tell by the fact that there would be a 5th speaker in the hatch on the driver side, but even then .

I wouldn't actually consider the Bose system worth any more money though.. It's really not any better than any other factory system, certainly not worth anything if missing the headunit.

Just replace it ALL with aftermarket parts and you'll get MUCH better sound.
