i'm planning on putting two 18w3's into my 94 z when i get the cash. has anyone else done this yet?

ported boxes don't seem to work well in the z cuz of the odd shapes. so i was thinking large sealed box sub with fairly small mag. answer 18w3.

they will be powered with 2 directed 1100d's running sealed 6 cubes straight up against hatch!

thoughts???

damn can you even fit those things back there. good choice on speakers tho, i love JL Audio subs. i have there 10W3's my self

that is a 15 with a 10wide magnet and 9 inches deep if i remember right.

18w3's have smaller magnets and about 2-3 inches less depth.

I believe there is a fellow named "BigTymer" that has 2 18" in his hatch. He posts either here or at www.firebirdv6.com What do you mean you can't port em' due to the shape of the hatch??? You mean you can't squeeze out enough room??? Yeah, I doubt it too...... not for 2 18"s.....

if you check outmy pics and look at my 94z you'll see the box i have.
i'm running 1600watts into 1 15XXX in a 5.5 cube box with like 60inches of port tuned around 23-26hz.
it's not as loud as it should be. the reason is the odd shapes of the ported boxes. rectangle and square designs work better for ported, in our case i feel running two large sealed box subs will produce and louder and better sound. the XXX has awesome sq. but in this install it just don't hit the db's.

i'm shooting for mid 50's outta it.
