Rough idle

I have a 1994 z28 Camaro with 113,000 miles and I can’t get it to run right. It all started after driving it one day the car started to spit and sputter till I got to the 5500 rpm mark then it would clear out. So I did a turn up on it and it didn’t get better. And I’m stumped on it cause it’s not hitting on cylinders 5&6. I’ve changed plug, wires, opti, ICM, coil, fuel filter, and that’s it so far. What else could it be?

I'm going to move this post to the correct forum, since you aren't likely to get tech help in the “......Podcast” forum. That's why it says “PLEASE do not post in the Podcast forum”.

Problem could be due to faulty injectors, incorrect valve adjustment, loss of compression.

Have you scanned it for codes? Have you checked the fuel pressure? What do the plugs in #5 and #6 look like?

Re: Rough idle

Rough idle and loss of power can be caused by 100x things on a vehicle..
is you cel on ? Is it flashing ? Have you run codes ? If so what are they .?
its pointless as well as time and money consuming to just guess and throw a part on hoping to fix the issue..
I'm not sure if that year is mafs of speed density but if it is mafs . all you put on already, I would guess mafs or vacuum leak or even 02sensors..I find what your describing is usually caused by bad or failing front 2 sensors..exp if it runs fine while running it hard.

Re: Rough idle

94/OBD-1 does not have misfire detection, so no flashing SES light. 93 is the only year that is speed-density. 94 and up are MAF. Only has pre-cat O2 sensors, no after-cat.

Re: Rough idle

I would clean the mafs for sure then and check for vacuum leaks.. When I got my car it had a choppy idle and slight misfire on partial acceleration . I found 2 vacuum leaks which helped the choppy idle and just looking at the mafs elements I could tell they were dirty. Cleaned those off and the car ran perfect..
