What are you looking for in a Chevy RWD sedan?
Well, it seems as if we don't really go here too much. What do we want in a Chevy RWD sedan?
Personally, I need a 5 passenger vehicle as a daily driver. But I need to like driving it as well. What I'd want in one, is not necessarily identical to what I'd want in a 5th gen Z/28. Sure I'd want it to be nicely put together, with a nice interior, great dynamic and with good looking sheetmetal. But it doesn't need to be so edgy - performance wise. Yes, I'd like it to handle well, but I'd give up alittle at 10/10ths for a smoother ride.
I think I'd also be more than happy with the performance offered by the LS4. But the one thing that I absolutely would really, really want, (to go along with the LS4), is a slick manual trans.
It's a must for me, and a good selling/marketing point in a world full of slushbox 300C/Magnums/Chargers.

Re: What are you looking for in a Chevy RWD sedan?
Aside from the obvious (great exterior/interior) I'd want basically a 4 door version of the current GTO. Seating for 5, G6 to CTS sized. LS4 would be a great starting V8, I assume they could get a little more power from it in RWD trim (330HP?) both 6 speed manuals and autos are a must. LS2 should be an option on the top of the line. If they can get 355HP out of the LS4 like is rumored for the Silverado then that would make an ok SS, I'd be ok with saving the LS2 for the G8 and CTS-V, unless those cars could get a 6.2L V8 and leave the LS2 for the Chevy.
SS = LS4 355HP
Zxx = LS2 400HP
G8 GXP = 6.2L 425HP
CTS-V = 6.2L 440HP
SS = LS4 355HP
Zxx = LS2 400HP
G8 GXP = 6.2L 425HP
CTS-V = 6.2L 440HP

How about the following:
- multilink suspension at each corner with multiple stiffness and ride height option packages
- seating for 5 adults (no plunging coupe-like rooflines to kill rear headroom; no super-low rear seating surfaces that make passengers feel like they're sitting on the floor)
- supportive buckets up front
- *full* gage package
- a bombproof automatic transmission
- a manual that's slicker than the T56
- a rear diff at least as strong as the 8.5" 10-bolt
- respectable brakes all around (I'd like to see at least 13" rotors up front)
- engine options including the supercharged 3800, and at least two V8 options (maybe the LS4 and LS2)
- room in the wheelwells for decent-sized tires (I'd like room for at least 285s)
- a wagon/5-door hatch version
- 5000 lbs tow rating
Oh, and it needs a serious dose of attitude. I want something that could be dropped into the '94 "Lord Vader, your car is ready" Impala SS ad without looking out of place. I want something that makes my Impala look old and dated and irrelevant, because GM has yet to accomplish that task.

2 less doors than the amount you're proposing

In all seriousness, take the '06 model, make it somewhat jucier on the outside without losing the clean shape, make the 3.9 standard with the LS4 and LS2 as options, make it HANDLE, and call it a day. I think when this car does come out, based on what I've been seeing, GM will nail it right the first time

Re: What are you looking for in a Chevy RWD sedan?
Personally, I love the Caddy CTS & CTS-V but I cannot afford the price tag at this point nor do I want the attention that a Caddy brings. If GM made a Chevy or Pontiac that had great styling with a true V8/RWD that got great gas mileage I'd be in. I really like DOD and think that it could be a great asset for a car like this. If you look at how efficient the LS engines are to begin with and then if you look at what DOD does to help it even more it should be very impressive for mileage. I'd also like it to stay in the Impala size range just for my personal needs but a smaller version would be a nice touch as well.
Re: What are you looking for in a Chevy RWD sedan?
I'm simple: V8(~350hp), no more then 200" length, multi-link IRS, 18" wheels, agressive styling, no stupid gauges, console, a family vaction size trunk, TC and Stablity control(that both can be turn fully off), a manual option, RWD/AWD, 25+ MPG on the highway, low 14s, and a good sound system.
I think Chrysler hit all those with the Charger except a couple.

Re: What are you looking for in a Chevy RWD sedan?
Well, for a car that is malybe going to see the light of day 3 to 5 years after the chrysler 300, I want to see 3 to 5 years worth of improvement in refinement, technology, options, interior quality, etc. I don't want to see another example of gm showing up several years late to the party with a vehicle that is 90% as good as its aging competition.

Re: What are you looking for in a Chevy RWD sedan?
One of two things:
(medium) 4 door or wagon. RWD or AWD. 6spd transmission (make mine a manual) with about 250-300hp. My father's 98 GTP has plenty of good power. I dont want or need 400hp. Decent options, good styling. Very comfortable seats. Something bigger than the malibu (yet smaller than the impala), but not like the caprice wagons from the 90's. Those are too big.
(large) an impala sized sedan or wagon. Still not the size of the caprice wagons. 300-400hp, RWD. 6spd Auto. Very comfortable seats and 5000lb towing capacity. (Yes, it'd be a tank)
One or the other. Honestly I'd prefer a good wagon as my next car instead of a F5 Camaro. I could get the camaro later, and I already have a coupe/convertible.

SIGMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well i know thats not gonna happen but if it is on anywhere near as nice a chassis as sigma id be happy. id like a manual tranny (obviously an option) for automatics it should have available paddle shifting. seat 4 very comfortably 5 decently comfy. a wagon variant would be nice too.
