VF Commodore / Chevy SS Reveal
Lets get a fresh thread going. Hopefully no more speculation from now on. Both cars will be unveiled in the coming days.

Some more is visible. There's a side vent and that hood is looking very aggressive.

Re: VF Commodore / Chevy SS Reveal
I am wondering if the SS will be toned down a bit compared to the Commodore. Anytime GM brings something from overseas they always tone it down styling wise, and I've never understood it.

Re: VF Commodore / Chevy SS Reveal
Judging from the spy shots its going to have a pretty big spoiler and vents on the hood. This will probably be the most "tricked out" VF until Holden brings out their special performance models. This is the last Commodore so they probably won't be holding back with special additions.

Yeah, they just announced that today. Good news. If it moves to a global RWD platform like they're reporting, that should hopefully mean more RWD vehicles for us well into the future.

Getting closer:
Report from someone that went to the event - with the last part describing the SS.

Well, none of the photoshops is that close. Elements, yes. But the car is quite surprising. You look at something standing next to a designer and say that's been raised, or that's been lowered, and the answer is nope - it's the opposite.
Or you say, that part's been changed, and they say nope - it's carrryover. They've visually lowered and widened the car - and also made t look smaller which makes the wheels look bigger - but it's slightly bigger inside and a lot of attention has been made to improving interior look and feel. The driving position looks and feels lower but isn't. And the bonnet is more curved, but looks shorter! The car seems more sinewy and sorta like it's buffed up
What they have done is listened to the market and 'fixed' issues either real or perceived. They've definitely moved the appearance on from the chiselled, bluff square of the VE look. It's more organic, and the Series II changes make a lot of sense.
I think there's going to be a bit of culture shock about it. Some people will freak a bit.
The content is going to blow people away on the electronics front. Not just for tht'e latest version of MyLink.
I've been in a lot of different models of VE and looked at a lot. This, they've kept the good bits, and made the rest better, IMO.
And the SS looks mean - without looking childish!

The SS better look mean and better sound mean. I can't believe we are 8 days away from the U.S release, and it's still looking like this car is going to have this silly name stuck to it.

Re: VF Commodore / Chevy SS Reveal
Just watched the reveal of the VF. Very nice looking car, classy comes to mind. They showed the Calais-V model, l(uxury trim for those that aren't familiar with the range breakdown), pretty tight wheel gaps. SS (Commodore) model as well as the Chevrolet to be unveiled at Daytona next week, but we already knew that anyway.
