Thoughts on the Ford Start
I think it's cute. Looks similar to the Ford Ka in many ways.
You won't get too many favorable comments on this board, I wouldn't imagine... but it is a small car targeting a different audience.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle. As long as I've been chiming for the industry to produce a vehicle like this, I never though Ford would be first. Bravo Ford. Now just build the damn thing and lead the way.
It's primarily for the Asian markets. And you're right SS that it's not likely to win many praises here. But you're also right in that it targets a different crowd.
I think Ford should sell it here.
They wouldn't sell a gazillion of them, but they won't have to. They would get a lot of press and single young ones in the city and on a budget will snap them up.
Then theres the popularity from those that instantly equate small eccentric cars with being enviromentally friendly.
Ford would get miles of positive press with this car if they sold it here.

Argh!
Would you guys forget about the styling and concentrate on what the car is? An inexpensive appliance vehicle designed for emerging markets. We're talking sub $10K (US) appliance vehicle which is where the industry should be moving in the first place. Think of how expensive computers were even 5-years ago and how cheap they are today (with more computing power). That is the direction the market will be driven because of exploding markets like China. I'm just happy to see one of the big three leading the charge.
