Seems Tesla's financial problems get worse and worse. Now they are calling up customers to tell them that the cost of the car went up.....for things like a sound system.

It's a big oil conspiracy to kill the electric car again.

A company that is selling a car that the hippies think will save the world. But their strategy was a FAIL from the start, I don't care what anybody says, thinks, or wishes; IC engines will power our cars for at LEAST the next 100 years.

Now if a petrol product fuels them or not, that I cannot answer; but they will still be around.

There is no way the electric car can become mainstream for a long LONG time. All you have to do is look at battery techology, cost, disposal, and production capabilities and you'll see without some major breakthrough in technology it will not happen.

Talk about living under a rock. While EVs are not quite ready for prime time, they certainly have a brighter future over the next 100 years than the ICE. There isn't enough oil on the planet to fuel a growing number of ICEs over the next 100 years, and even if we can find a suitable biofuel equivalent, there isn't enough land to grow all the switch grass, corn, etc we'd need to fuel all the ICEs when the oil runs out. Although developing fuels from algae sounds promising, the jury is still out as to what kind of impact that would have on the environment is well. The answer clearly is electric powered vehicles, especially when the best source of "free" energy is the sun. We just need to improve the range of EVs (i.e. battery technology) and improve the infrastructure of collecting and delivering the energy to the vehicles to be able to maximize their potential. As technology improves, so will performance. We just need to get past the stigma that EVs are only for hippies and treehuggers. (Heck most of the hippies I know drive ICE powered VW buses.)

Just wait 25 years till Carbon Nanotubes are all over the place. Then *everything* will be different.

For 100K I'll take a ZR1...I'm with you man, but some folks want to see the ICE disappear!

Its funny how things change. I remember 5-6 years ago on this board, I read an article that stated, adjusted for future growth in demand, the world had about a 98 year supply of oil.
