SRT Introduces SRT-8 Core Models
Chrysler Does Us All A Solid, Offers Budget SRT "Core" Models
These so-called "Core" SRT models were unveiled yesterday at the Chicago Auto Show. When they debut this summer, you will be able to buy an Dodge Challenger or Chrysler 300 SRT8 for $5,780 to $7,000 off the normal price, respectively. Those are some pretty decent discounts on V8-powered cars that can do the zero to 60 mph dash in the four second range. The Challenger Core starts at $38,995 and the 300 Core starts at $41,995. |
Re: SRT Introduces SRT-8 Core Models
Nice. All performance and no fluff. I would drive an SRT-8 Challenger or Charger.

Re: SRT Introduces SRT-8 Core Models
When they announced the Australian version they said their was some decontenting:
"Russ Ruedisueli of Chrysler Australia tells the Brisbane Times that the lower-spec 300 will do away with things like adjustable suspension, adaptive cruise control and forged alloy wheels, while still offering the massively strong 6.4-liter Hemi V8. In fact, this "core" model SRT8 figures to be a bit quicker than the loaded version, thanks to a lighter curb weight." Chrysler to challenge locals with less-costly 300 SRT8 in Australia |
Re: SRT Introduces SRT-8 Core Models
Wasn't that what they did with the Super Bee Charger and Yellow Jacket Challenger? I guess its the same formula, they remove the leather put some cloth, removed some interior luxury's and made it $3,000 cheaper.
I guess these core models are even better, they remove the yellow paint and made it even cheaper... I like the idea, I'm glad dodge and Chrysler are offering it. |
Re: SRT Introduces SRT-8 Core Models
Nice, somebody should send Ford a memo. It baffles me why a fully loaded GT500 doesn't come in at or below the ZL1's MSRP.
