Rumor: Could 201 Camaro be Inspired By 1970
 

Do you think that the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro could wear an exterior design inspired by the 1970 Camaro?

That is the rumor and may be a very interesting one.

From everything I have heard, the next car will be largely an evolution of the current styling themes.


Really, if we went back to the 60's for the 5th Gen and then to the 70's for the 6th gen, what will the 7th Gen in 2021 look like, an 80's Berlinetta?

This rumor started a couple days after the 5th gen concept car was revealed at NAIAS in 2006.

It's just speculation. It has never been anything more than that.

I, for one, don't think they will ever introduce a new Camaro design with strong second-gen cues.

Except maybe the tail lights. You could kinda see them in the 5th gen.

I would think the 6th Gen will be more evolutionary from the 5th Gen styling. Although I'm hopeful that the move to Alpha will allow the car to have a little more sports coupe than muscle car proportions the 5th Gen had on Zeta.

They were the one main thing I posted back when Fbodfather was asking what we'd like to see on the coming 5th gen...I'd still like to see them, and still have my 2nd gen. Round tail lights look great on Chevy's always have always will...jmo!!! Also I think they can run with the same platform and redo the front and rear facias, don't throw away a good thing just yet. 1st gen are the most sought after and the car was completely redesigned after only 3 years, it could have stuck around a bit longer.

Your right...the fifth gen has been such a resounding success in the marketplace...the 6 th gen will be evolutionary from a design standpoint...

Slightly smaller, lighter and quicker....

Just my opinion...

I know its not true but I wish it was the 2nd gen F-bodies from 70 to 74 are my favorite F-cars, especially the ones with the flaming chicken or twin snorkels on the bonnet.

I wonder how amazing a F6 would if they patterned it after the 70.5 to 73 Camaro?
