Production Ford GT pictures

Rear bumper, headlight arrangement, and a more refined interior are the notable differences from the concept.

Wow... finished article... looks bloody nice! The interior looks pusposeful and to be of a suitably decent quality too... Anyone in the know here have the skinny on build quality - is it up to par for a car costing that much?

I'll take mine in white with blue racing stripes.

Impressive!

I wonder if there's actually any storage under that "hood"....or is it just for fluid, gas tank access.

Wouldn't a car with a rear engine have major understeer? Man I'd like to drive it though... thats for sure...

(edit: meant understeer... I have the day off and I'm drinking? Thats my excuse..)

I've always been a big fan of the car; and have kept close track of it ever since the the showed the concept. I read somewhere that the rated HP would end up a 550 (I suspect an engine like that can run a LOT of boost; can you imagine if something like that was widely available for the stang???)

Not that I'm in any position to buy it, but there's been some steady price creep. When the concept first came out, they hinted it would be price competitive with the next gen viper. Later they said $100K, then $125K, then "Significantly lower than $150,000," and I yesterday open the latest issue of R&T (or Automobile; don't remember which one), and the estimated price is $147K!!! They better release the production cars fast before the price reaches the 200 mark...

On another observation, I watched the 24 hours of Le Mans, and I was thinking that it's mandatory for FoMoCo to race this car professionally in some series. To do any less is a disgrace for the original GT40, the only American car to get an OVERALL win at Le Mans

It's mid, theres a difference, and no. If anything they would have more understeer. However I'm sure this GT is close to 50 50 weight balance.

If anyone hasn't seen them outside of photographs, they are awesome in real life.

The pictures make the car look enormous, but it's really pretty small. (Same way with the Viper.) For some reason, being smaller with all that power and that big motor just makes it look more bad-***.

Nice! I'd buy one of those over a Viper any day When is GM going to step up and build a comparable (exotic-type) car?

HOW MUCH DOES IT WEIGH!?!??!

I don't think that engine would be in favor of Le Mans, they'd have to scale it down to 4000cc's w/supercharger, or somehow get 7000cc's out of it naturally aspirated to even keep up with the grid.

I went to the 100 Celebration Saturday.I seen all 3 of the GT's getting a police escort in the the celebration..They sound mean. For a car thats only 44 inches tall the driver and pass. looked quite happy in there.I had took many pictures of them along with all the other historic Ford vehicles.I was really impressed with how they had the whole thing set up,If you never been to the area before it wouldnt of mattered it was that easy.
But I never seen so many GT-40's together at one time.Heck they had an awesome selection of Shelby vehicles there as well....
