Official Picture of the new GTR and info. Corvette Killer

The Z06 has a 6.13 power-to-weight ratio - 505 HP, 3100 lbs.
The top-level GT-R has been hyped (I won't even say rumor) as having 530 HP, and lots of carbon fiber. From a base weight of 3800 lbs., I figure a realistic weight drop would be to around 3600 lbs. The GT-R's power to weight ratio, using those figures, is 6.79. If we go a little more extreme with the weight reduction, say another two hundred pounds (down to 3400), the GT-R's power-to-weight ratio goes to 6.41.
The base-model GT-R is supposed to have 450 HP, carrying 3800 lbs. That's a power-to-weight ratio of 8.44.
I don't know about you, but that hardly screams "Corvette-Killer" to me.

My money is on the top end version being much more than $76,000. An extremely low volume, carbon fiber intensive car is not going to be cheap. Again, Nissan is just trying to spread the hype. As far as your stupid comment about GTR+chip>Z06 with procharger. Even if that were true, and I don't think it is, the Blue Devil/ZR1 Corvette will be out shortly, and it is boosted from the factory, just like the GTR. Wonder which one will hand the other one their ***?
And just to clarify, I may own a Camaro, but I am not a domestic guy. I am simply a guy who is tired of being told how awesome these cars are from every internet fanboy who has probably never even been around a Skyline in his life. One of the most overrated cars of all time.

the thing that pisses me off about this thread is how pushy the op is being about the car like where all supposed to jump on board and love it. Like he is trying to sell us the damn car. Its great he loves it but no need to be so pushy about it.

It's ugly. For 80k, I don't want to drive an ugly car.
Sounds like it is as much of a vette killer as the GT500 was. And please, drop the "They can turn up the boost" BS. You run what ya brung, as the saying goes, and I am betting on the Z06 until proven otherwise.

I'm not crazy about the nose or the headlights but the nack looks good. Interior is nice but the opposite speedo and tach lines kinda clash. Wheels are ok. Brakes are kick azz. Engine looks sweet! The pic showing the trunk makes the rear tires looked tubbed, kinda cool.
Interested to hear the curb weight and official pricing on all variants.

On seeing the interior, let me amend my position:
Quick or not, that's one fugly bastard, *inside and out.*
Seriously, that may be the most boring, square, workaday interior in any sports car, period. Looks like an early 80s Renault.

Blue Devil Corvette......Procharged Z06......Skyline with chip....
I'm not a big fan of the car inside or out, but why not wait to see some tests before making assumptions? And it's pretty amazing that a top speed of 192 MPH is looked down on (I know, I know, the Z06 almost touches 200 but at those speeds what's 5-7 MPH more?).

Internet vaporware racing FTW!!!!

Sure, the arguement is vaporware, but the OP made it. A 192mph top speed is great, however it is lost on me how it can be written in such an earth shattering context, given the Vette is already out and will do it faster for a supposedly similiar pricetag.
On another note, why did Nissan decide to hike the price of this new Skyline up over the R34 iterations? Correct me if I am wrong, but roughly translated, the R34 GTR sold for about $45 in Japan I believe.

Man, it may be the best thing since sliced bread. But, IMO, it is ugly. If it beats the Z06, hats off to it, BUT it is still an unattractive car IMO. It is not unfeasible for me to buy a Z06, in the end, my pocket book will do the talking(though I am far more likely to buy a top end Challenger and maybe a camaro or 'z51 Vette).
