And now for something completely different. Buick Zeta.

We don't seem to talk about Buick's Zeta much. I'd bet it'll be pretty nice - considering it'll replace the pretty nice Lucerne - and GM wants to kick Buick up a notch.

Here's a Buick proposal based off the current Statesman, which was seen at Shanghai last year:

And BTW, any thoughts on if this Zeta would/should share DOHC V8's with Caddy, or should it share pushrod V8's with Chevy.

I think the Northstar would be appropriate.

It would be the first Buick since 72 (save for the GN) that I wouldn't be embarassed to be seen in.

I think the N* would be an appropriate choice.

I'm not wild about the styling....it's nice I guess....but void of personality. Maybe that's just perfect for Buick--following Holden's somewhat sterile themes--but it doesn't get me overly excited.

BTW, the red car is the current Holden Stateman based Buick Royaum. We can only guess at what the Zeta will look like.

I like my friends 1999 Regal better than that Buick. It's not ugly, but not exciting. Not what I expect of an 'uplevel' or 'luxury'type brand.

Its nice, but I like the Mid-East Caprice SS better, even though its the same basic car. What is sad is these cars have been available through out the world since 2000, but not here in North America.

THe USA version would have unique sheet metal. That is a Holden rebadge for China

That explains it then. Holdens are pretty bland imo...

Likely it wouldn't. Holden's conservative upscale design would be right at home with Lexus in the US. Also by importing 20-30K of this car it would cost very little to bring to market and would allow Holden to keept its factory going at top speed. The higher price point of this car would mean that the change in exchange rates will mean less on this than it does to the current $32K GTO.

BTW I expect the Gen IV 6.0 DOD to be used as Holden has direct access to it rather than importing the N*.

Who said anything about being imported from Australia? More like the Great White North.

Where is that picture of the Buick LaCrosse made for China?

sorry, I removed the badges for a contest for another site.

Why cant we have that!?!?! Looks like a mini-Maybach. Load a 360hp 6.0 with VVT, AFM and 6spd auto, base engine is teh 3.6 making 285hp with 6spd auto, both RWD...its a win all across the board.
