No new Camaro according to Motor Trend

Take it for what it is worth, which maybe nothing because MT sucks at getting acurate inside info. They are reporting that everything RWD is dead except the next GTO and a full-size Buick sedan in the new issue. This is probably more fall out from the Zeta crap a few months ago, but they specifically mentioned that the new Camaro got axed. I picked the new issue off the newsstand and quickly flipped through it, but I did read the entire article about GM. MT always seems to be out of the loop or a few months behind in there news articles, so I hardly put much faith in there articles anymore. But I thought I would post it here since they actually used the words new Camaro.

The article is in the new issue with the Bullitt rematch on the cover, Charger vs. Mustang on the streets of San Francisco.

I saw that too, yes I read MT too. I also read Autoweek, and I feel dirty each time. I refuse to even open R and T anymore though, ugh. I'll stick with hot rod, super chevy, performance pontiac, etc 99% of the time.

Lead time is still very high on mag's so I have a hard time believing anything I read in them unless it is an official from the car company. Even then you have to take it with a grain of salt. Why must everyone lie so much?

OHH Wellll, Thats it, I've now lost faith. NNNOOOTTT!

Coarse if I listened to magazines I'd be driving a Mustang GT instead of a GTO. But I dont.

I have little to no faith in those mags anymore. The final straw was the "Gotta Have it Factor" BS fiasco. Also, how can RWD be dead with many cars comverting to RWD, or new entries to the market being RWD? Also, GM has all but said the Camaro, or a Camaro like vehicle, will be back through many hints. GM isn't doing well, but they aren't stupid, and they know just as well as we do, they need a RWD, V8, Pony car to contest the Mustang, and coming Challenger. They are not going to let that hot segment go tottally uncontested. The only question is when they'll have an answer

Until the new Camaro is officially announced anything could happen.

I'll take my news from sources slightly more connected to the situation than Motor Trend.

I think they just guess anyways. Are they the ones who put the Ridgeline against the Colorado?

Re: No new Camaro according to Motor Trend

Don't forget that print magazines are liek 4-5 months behind the real world... the Internet has made them all but useless as far as any real valuable new car news goes.

They're still reacting to the "Zeta is dead" stuff...
