New Vette - UGLY
Considering that no OFFICIAL pictures have been released by GM of the C6 Vette, I'm holding off my judgement.
Every picture or "spy shot" you've seen is just some magazine guy's guess. Dave Hill also just anounced that all of these pictures are terribly inaccurate.

Related story in carconnection today regarding Bob Lutz's famous reaction when he 1st saw the C6:
"Despite his white hair, Bob Lutz is quick to say his frequent pronouncements shouldn't be seen as the word of god. But in the constant effort to divine meaning, he has created a couple automotive "urban myths." Consider the fate of the next generation Corvette. Dubbed the C6, it has been pushed back about a year and won't be ready, as originally planned, for next year's 50th anniversary celebration of the famous American car. Why the delay? Frequent reports have insisted the delay was ordered by Lutz, shortly after he arrived at GM last year. Indeed, when touring the Corvette studio, Lutz tells TCC, he was shown a of the car and when told what it was, he replied, "No, it isn't." That was enough to create a legend. But as they say, "now the rest of the story." "I really thought it wasn't," Lutz says plaintively, because it looked a lot like the current C5. When corrected, the GM Vice Chairman gave a nod and moved on. So why will it now hit the road in 2004? Simple: "It wasn't ready," insists Dave Hill, the man in charge of the C6 program."

I figured the C6 wouldn't stray too far styling-wise from the wildly popular C5. I'd look for bigger bulges in the fenders ala C3 and probably a smaller butt.

I would agree... whoch is why I am confused and, frankly, shocked and disappointed about all these rumors about exposed headlights rather than concealed headlights...

I'd rather see the pop-ups though, they've been on the car in some form since almost forever. ------------------

Darth, I think the "rumors" of exposed headlights are more than rumors...Dave Hill has all but said they'll be exposed in an effort to lighten the car and perhaps improve nighttime aerodynamics.

To me, concealed headlights are as much a part of Corvette as the quad taillights are.
I know it'll make it potentially a little lighter and all, but sometimes you give something to get something....
I seriously have a hard time accepting this.

It looks like an Audi TT clone from the front or a 350Z...(god I hate that car for being decently fast) But from the rear it has a sting-ray like back its not THAT bad, but I prefer the C5 to it, and I like flip-lights to.

It will be sweet and we all we love it. I thought that Motor Trend's first rendition of the C5 was really boring, but when I saw it in person and saw it's beautiful proportions, I thought it was awesome. The C6 will be cool as well
