It used to be SS, but after their 'afterthough' and 'bolt-on' upgrade status since '96.... The name does nothing for me. Z28 all the way.

Why did you leave Cobra out?

Thought SVT would cover that.

Z/28 probably. First of all, it has roots in the 60's. But also, unlike most performance monikers, it was never slapped on something crappy. Sure, some Z/28's were slow, but there was never a Z/28 that was truly an abomination in the way that say, the 1974 GTO was to that nameplate.

One glaring omission IMO is Trans Am. To me, that moniker really speaks of performance, perhaps more than any other. I really cannot think of a Trans Am that was not a stand out performer in its day.

Yeah, I know. But I kind of wanted to make it Dodge vs Ford vs Chevy.

How did Redline get in there??....well it's late and I'm .

Yes, but to me (and I bet many others) SVT also triggers the pickup truck.

Cobra kinda stands alone.

I dont even think of the Shelby roadsters anymore. I think of a supercharger whine. But thats just me. Z28 is still a bigger moniker.

Z/28.... it doesn't have to have the slash in it so much for me, though I know you are all for the slash, Charlie....

Used to be SS for me too bad when it was used on V8 Impalas, Camaros, and 2WD regular cab trucks with 454c.i. V8's

(Cobalt Supercharged SS, LS4 Impala, and LS2 Trailblazer are good SS vehicles)

Z28 and Z06 do it for me now

The " / " adds a goosebump or two.

I'd say Z/28...why? I guess because I'm a Camaro fanatic. I don't know any better.

Z/28 cause from the start it was only on 1 car, not a line of cars and it always meant performance even when it was just relative to what else was available. I just hope chevy goes back to its roots with that one make it a factory race car ala the Z06

Z28! All the others have been used across multiple products, some arguably not so deserving as others.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.... but unlike say SS which has been applied to a lot of products since it first appeared... when someone says "Z/28" - there can only be one thing they're referring too. That counts for something and GM knows this; if they ever start slapping Z/28 on anything other than a Camaro... we know the world is about to end very soon .

"Z/28" - just say it out loud - it sounds like it means business.

Doggone it FiefSS - beat me to the punch!
