I'd like to to think it's BS reporting, or Lutz and the execs are just yanking our chains, but i don't know enough to reach a good conclusion.

As discussed, there's plenty of ways to interpret that quote...the author makes it sound like Lutz pounded a fist on a podium while screaming "for the last time the Camaro and Firebird are never, ever, EVER going to be back...EVER." Ok so they made a promise the car wouldn't be built anywhere else and a deal's a deal....sooo what, does that mean another F-body built in Canada in 2007? Who knows!

its interesting tho, cause all of these articles say that GM promised the CAW it wont produce the car anywhere else . but whats to say they wont just start production up there again?
and also, i kno they have a "deal" with the CAW, but if GM breaks said deal, what kind of legal reprocussions could they expect? any?

One option is building a whole new plant.... don't see that happening...
Another option is somewhere else in Canada... while that may satisfy the CAW to a point, and the Federal Canadian govt, it sure won't make St. Therese happy.
Now, if you say "screw it" and just build it whenever you want, whereever you want, you have to remember that GM builds a lot of other cars in Canada, and they can't just backstab the CAW and the govt and expect smooth sailing at all the other facilities up there.
