LAIAS thread
Here's the official list for debuts for anyone attending the LA Auto Show. Media days will be December 29th & 30th, Preview Night will be December 30th, and the show will be open to the public from January 2nd to 11th 2004. The price is $10.
Under 12 is free, so a few of you who post here don't have to worry about saving your lunch money.
Aston Martin DB9 coupe
BMW 6 series coupe
Buick Terazza
Chevy Colbalt
Saab 9-2
Saturn Relay
Chevrolet Corvette
Acura Concept
Hummer H3T
Mazda 3
Pretty much every concept car that debuted at Detroit last year.
Remember, this is the "official list. There will be other surprises by Chrysler, Lincoln Mercury and most of the brands of the orient.
This year (finally) LA's show appears well before Detroit's, so there will be quite a few media introductions, even though a few cars may be packed up and taken to Detroit from LA before the show opens to the general public.

So you are saying that the Corvette, and others, will debut at the LA show and not Detroit?.....................Wow, that is strange.

It will also be shown at the Detroit show, but it will Debut out here... as will the Colbalt.
Take my word for it, don't doubt me on this one.

Sticky this as a reference or feel free to remember that I said this if you wish.
FWIW: The Detroit press night is over a week after ours out here. At least Detroit will have virturally all the new "Concepts".

Los Angeles' show will be OVER Sunday January 11.
For the 1st time in memory, the LA show got the jump over Detroit.
Again, without going into details, trust me. We got the C6 FIRST.

I wonder if they pulled the ol' switch-er-oooo or if this was planned from the get go?
Kind of a way of throwing a bit of a 'surprise' into it... by unveiling in LA... pretty much everything I have read has specifically said Detriot would get the unveiling!
uhmmmmm.........no
2005 Corvette Coupes will be shown concurrently in Detroit and Los Angeles to the public on, I believe, the 5th of January. (Monday....that's the 5th??sorry...lotsa shows going on at the same time.....I'll check my notes in the office and get back to this thread if the date is wrong...it's late...can't remember...) The 2005 is "officially" unveiled to the press a few days earlier in Detroit at a special event. (there is some confusion because the public opening of NAIAS is after the unveil....)
The Chevy Display in Los Angeles will actually have a 2004 Commemorative Convertible on a central turntable until the 2005 Coupe is unveiled the morning of the 5th. Once the 2005 is in place, we'll put the Commem. Convertible in the "Corvette Salon" within the Chevy Exhibit.....it will feature several C5s as well as a large LED Screen with a video presentation behind the Convertible.....The 2005 Convertible will be unveiled later in the year.
Cobalt (2 models) will be unveiled as well in a special press conference before the 31st. SS Concept (along with 5-screen SS past/present/future video) will also be featured as well as one of our SEMA X-treme vehicles. Also, a Silverado Alternative Fuels vehicle. And of course the Malibu, Malibu MAXX, Colorado, Aveo, and Equinox along with the SSR (come get your picture taken in it.....compliments of Chevrolet) and our SS family of Silverado SS, Impala Supercharged SS, Monte Carlo Supercharged SS, SSR, and a new SS model are all featured vehicles.
I hope to see some of you there on the 5th. I'll be there for most of the day...flying back to DTW that evening.....product specialists will know where I am if you can't find me.

what's the point of "unvailing" in LA if the public can't see it here? if i can't see it for myself, then i don't really care where the car gets unvailed, i'm only going to see pictures anyway. and then i don't care where the pictures are coming from as long as they're legit.

uhhmmmm....not sure what you're trying to say. The 2005 Corvette Coupe will be unveiled on, as I recall, Monday the 5th of January in Los Angeles and Detroit..............if you are in Los Angeles, you can see the car in person...it will be on a turntable. It will NOT be on the turntable until the 5th...if you go to LAIAS before the 5th, the turntable will have a 2004 Corvette Commem. Convertible placed on it.
