Hrt 427
HSV's site is now displaying the new concept car developed by HRT (Holden Racing Team). It is based on the Monaro, and i'm sure some of you would love this thing as a GTO Judge

Re: Hrt 427
Personally, I think the Monaro would be just fine with 7.0 liter engine - the current "small blocks" seem out of place in a big, heavy coupe. This car has the potential to be a later-day Hemi-Charger. Better yet, ditch the Tremac 6-speed for a 4L80E slushbox - I would definately buy this car as a bargain basement Bentley. If this model makes it stateside, count me in.
The Judge nameplate is too much of a dated reference to really make an impact in todays market. Who even remembers "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In?" I would rather see it as a simple "GTO 427." Bring it on!

While the TT Trans Am and GNX were faster, they did not possess the electronics, suspensions, appointments, or interior level that the Vette did. The Holden DOES have a much higher level of refinements, maybe not equaling or passing the Vette, but d@mn sure alot closer than the others previously mentioned. And then pricing comes into play too.
Regardless - that 427 just looks AWESOME... hands-down.
It would definitely raise the bar if it makes it here to the States, IMO.

The 1st thing I noticed was the exhaust system. Monaro's rear fuel tank is off set, so dual exhaust w/o being modified is a no go. But GTO is supposed to have duals.
Knowing how close HSV works with Holden's developments, I wonder how much of the GTO (not the engine itself) is incorperated in this HRT.

Wonder if they changed the IRS design in the back? I heard from a goldfinch on a treebranch, the camber change out back with suspension travel in the rear is noticable with wide rubber.
Now THIS is what Chevy/GM Performance Divison should be doing with the Vette and Camaro...
