But still, the Corvette ZR1 has no trouble being quick around the 'ring... so I don't know why the Porsche GT2 would be slow by comparison.
Nissan targets (and brags about the GT-R's performance relative to) the Turbo, not the GT2. For the purposes of this discussion, just forget about the GT2.

holy crap, i just read this whole thread. robert, i really like the gtr amongst other imports. however, it seems that there are many inconsistencies surrounding this vehicle. if i were goshen or one of nissan's big wigs it would only make sense for me to squash all of the aquisations immediately, but they don't seem to be jumping at the bit. i don't forsee them replicating their original ring times. with that said, your posts seemed to be the most narrow minded posts in this thread.

i'm not trying to be a jerk. like i said, i think the gtr is sweet, but all of the warning signs:

1. the mystery surrounding nissan's lap time
2. the "if you turn x feature off" warranty is voided
3. seven entries for future transmissions in factory service log
4. 18k for transmission replacement
5. inconsistencies in 1/4 mile times
6. etc.

all for 70k. yikes. it seems there are many vehicles, import and domestic alike, that will perform on par if not better than the gtr and be had for less $. just my two cents.

Rob Nashville, I cannot possibly conceive how you can accuse anyone of being close minded. I have never once, regardless of the subject being discussed, ever concede any point, or even try to come to an agreement. Everyone sees themselves differently then the rest of the world, and you are definitely no exception. You honestly believe there is nothing fishy at all, in the slightest, about this GT-R iteration? Perhaps there isn't, but to not be the least bit curious, you are pulling the wool over your eyes.

Did the VDC cause that?

Can anyone get a clearer read on the plate? It looks like it might be funny.

So knowing its a $70k car with a $20k transmission, what will this repair bill fetch - $90k?

I think the more important question is what kind of tires did it have?

With all that technology on board, I am kind of surprised it just doesn't repair itself.
