Re: Civic Type-R
I think it's the concept from Geneva:
Tokyo, Japan, Jan 31, 2006 - (JCN Newswire) - Honda has announced its lineup for the 76th Geneva Salon. Featured will be:
- Honda Civic Type R Concept world debut
- European-specification Legend makes first appearance
- Honda FCX Concept points way to future of fuel cell vehicles
- Powering car and home: the Home Energy Station III
Civic Type R Concept promises driving thrills
The iconic and hugely popular Honda Civic Type R owed its success to an unbeatable combination of high performance and affordability that instantly captured the hearts and minds of driving enthusiasts. At the 76th Geneva Motor Show Honda will be presenting the world debut of the Civic Type R Concept, which forms the basis of its successor.
Based on the new Civic 3-door which will appear in Europe later this year, the Civic Type R Concept adopts the bold and emotional styling of the widely acclaimed 5-door hatchback. The power comes from Honda's 200 PS 2.0-litre, DOHC i-VTEC unit, the same competition-proven, high-rev pedigree engine as used in the out-going model. That means it will be as exciting to look at as it will be to drive.
The production version, like its predecessor, will be built at Honda's Swindon, UK, plant and is due to go on sale in early 2007.

Re: Civic Type-R
Even with "just" 200 HP, this can be a very fun machine, I'm sure. Civics Si were always fun to drive machines, even when they had 127 HP in mid-late 90s. This Civic should be able to run low 15 sec 1/4 mi, and for most teenagers that is enough.
I think this car also has good looks for what it's designed to be. I am not interested in the car, neither is someone who wants an SUV or a luxury automobile, but someone who is looking for flashy, quick and accessible, this is the car.
I'm surprised (or am I?) at the number of comments that have nothing valuable to contribute, no constructive criticism. Just one line (or 2 words).
Honestly, does anyone on this board care if you think the car "sucks" or that the car "rocks"? Those comments add nothing because hardly anyone knows you in person or what you stand for or if your judgment or taste has any affect on others, and you will hardly build a reputation with such comments here.
And then some will utter threats and insults if an import board "bashes" f-car using similar style.
Gosh....

Re: Civic Type-R
I hate yellow
They need to change the back end, IMO.
Civic Si has always been a good, appealing car for the younger market. People who come to realize they want something "sporty" that's also practical.

Re: Civic Type-R
thats the European spec Type-R, we're not going to see that on our side of the ocean.. however, the US will be getting a 4 door civic Si next year (canada doesn't as it has teh Acura CSX, which is the same thing, basically)
