Chevy hints that the SS concept is based on the Chevelle!

Well there isnt no need of complaining on this one the truth is out.
(even my thought of the SS being a SSR without the R was wrong)

Kill me now. Maybe Chevrolet will rethink this once the SSRs start piling up on dealership lots like so much cord wood.

I tend to doubt they will sit long on the lots.

Like I said from the first time I saw the SS concept.... I think it is a cool starting point for a Chevelle... but not really a Camaro. :)

Wheres that little waving smiley? I'm going to need it to wave bye to GM and hello to Ford.

Great. now the Camaro fans don't have really anything now.

I really wish they'd drop the SS package off the Monte Carlo, until its optional with an LS1.

believe me the SSR will sell like hotcakes, with the top up, it looks pretty damn cool. All the magazines I have read that reviewd it, love it,

our problem is that we compare everything to a camaro and not compare it to itself,

Also, the SSR isn't exactly being made in mass quanities either.

Doubt you'll be able to find one period, let alone sitting around on lots.

I agree. Its just like the T-bird or the Prowler.. Itll definately sell based on appearance alone.

The Chrysler Prowler was also made in small batches, much smaller than the SSR is planned for. And near the end they were sitting for well over 100 days on dealers' floor before being sold.

I'm sure SSRs will do well for a year or so, but I don't think the design has near the legs the Prowler or PT Cruiser had. Everyone who wants one will pretty much buy theirs in the first year, then things will slow down dramatically. Think Fiero, think Allante, think Reatta.

I don't see why these cars have to come back as 4-doors. The same thing happened with the Charger concept of a few years ago. Sounds like Chevy is anxious to get the Chevelle name back out there anyways...
