When you say no one cares I am assuming you mean you dont... To me it very much depends on what you want out of it. A fun commuter car maybe. I had a very different view of it though when I thought it was also sitting on Alpha though.

I am one of the very few that care which wheels are driven, but how much of the general public does that represent? Probably less than the amount of people that opt for a manual these days in the US. I was talking to my 19yo sister about drive wheels and she thought that all wheels drove the car equally on all cars. My mom couldn't care less that her 08 Accord coupe is fwd. All she wanted was a sporty looking car with the big engine and a manual. Her first car was a 75 Camaro V8 and she has also owned a 280Z, so even though she should be familiar with rwd, it was never a requirement.

Why are they putting an Aveo front end on any new car?!

Good question. It sucks no matter what car they throw it on.

I don't like the Code 130R all that much. It is ok... It is proportioned somewhat like the 1 Series, and that is a bad thing.

The Tru 140S is pretty cool looking. I think you could live with 150HP if it really got 40mpg and didn't weigh too much. You might be able to turn up the boost too...

I like both of them! As mentioned before, the red one looks like the old Nomad concept with a different front end and a trunk instead of a wagon.

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one to see a hint of the (Kappa) Nomad in the profile of the Code 130R. It's growing on me as I must admit I was a little ewww, when I saw the GM shots, but I'm warming up to it after seeing other NAIAS photos. I too, immediately thought 1series competitor and just as homely too, but I think there's some promise there; it could be slick. The name seems kinda... well stupid at first blush, but once again it seems to have its own ring even though it doesn't really mean, or evoke anything in particular... it's more interesting/mysterious than a purely alphanumeric name I guess. Maybe they're on to (or is that just on:-) something.

Lotsa Chevys had flags on them back in the '60s.

Yes, but most of those (if not all) are V8s. :p My '67 Camaros have the same ones as the Chevelle. My '67 Chevelle also had them. (More than likely that is a '66 or '67 Chevelle.) They're typically referred to as V-flags. Back in 1967 the 6-cylinder versions didn't have them. (Nor did the Z/28 for that matter.) In 1968 they were dropped from the Camaros.

The point being, its a bit odd seeing them on a non-V8 Chevrolet, but then I guess its not unusual.

After seeing video of these cars on foxnews I am stupid impressed. The cars are both beautiful to me. Chevy got the rear ends especially right. I hope tha they remain the same and dont get dumbed down for production.

We're probably getting one or the other.

Why do you say that?

Chevrolet has room for both a Cruze coupe/hatchback and an entry level Alpha based RWD coupe/sedan.

Yeah I think it is possible they could do both.

To be successful and sell in large volumes you need to appeal to the masses. Performance oriented vehicles and car companies will always be available to the enthusiasts. At least these concepts spark some passion in automotive design - something that has been lacking lately in many areas of the industry.

They're not out of touch with what boring people want in a boring appliance car, they just don't care because they're enthusiasts who don't want appliances. Of course they call it ugly and boring because that's what it is. It's all about saying boooo to the appliances that enthusiasts don't want. These cars look like every other boring bubble car on the road.

A FB group has been started asking GM to build the Code 130R. If you like the 130R or want to help out those who do, join the group.

I'd be for it, at least if they make a minor change...

Replace the body with something else.
