Blue Devil spotted testing at Nuremburgring
Blue Devil spotted testing at Nuremburgring
The new issue of R/T mag. has a pic of what they are saying is the King Kong Corvette, the Blue Devil testing in Germany at the famous Nuremburgring. They say that witnesses in the area have heard the sound of a supercharger as the Blue Devil screams down the track. They are estimating horsepower at 600+. The pic. shows a LeMans BLUE
Corvette with the Z06 body and black wheels, the front fenders seem to have more of a bulge to them. They state that if Blue Devil makes production it will be available next year '07 model. at a price of $100K est.
I think this is a good sign that the Blue Devil has a green light production as it stands right now. Why would they be spending money and doing serious testing at Nuremburgring. And on top of all that they bring out a Blue Corvette on to part of the track for spy photographers to get a shot. I think that was kind of a
on GM's part.
If Blue Devil makes it, what will it be called as the ultimate Corvette?

For some sick reason I believe you!

Magnussen set the time, but Heinricy cut the same number afterward...

Re: Blue Devil spotted testing at Nuremburgring
Testing the supercharged engine in the z06, which has a frame designed for far less horse power would be why you don't see the reflection in numbers. Perhaps they can't push the engine as hard as they would like to. It's powertrain testing on the 'ring.
The powertrain is also being tested in an XLRv "mock-up" with huge pipes, a great big buldging hood, etc. Doesn't mean its going to perform like a Blue Devil would, because it's not on the Blue Devil frame/suspension, etc. I'm rambling, you get the idea.

Beyond this there's nothing I can discuss regarding engines, but the numbers at the ring are what they are, set by what they were set by.
GM has a very good test course at Milford. In it's own way it's a good deal "better" than the 'ring, but the 'ring is a known quantity and understood as a common denominator among sports car fans the world over.
There is zero reason to run laps for the press with a product that doesn't "exist" for sale. The downside if far more damaging that what could possibly be gained by doing so.
The C6 Z06 is that strong, whether folks want to admit to it, or choose to be in denial.
