Assuming there will be an 07' Camaro...

Should there be a 40th Anniversary Package?

Assuming you think there should be one:
What would you like to see it consist of?

Of course, even if it doesn't get here in time. There should be some sort of special package..

40th Anniversary package should have the LS7 V8 standard. I'd also like it to be painted the same colors as the other Camaros, but have a dual white stripe theme going on.

I also think they should have a dash plaque or embroidered headrests(like 97 30th) on all cars built for 2007

If there is a 5th gen, then I believe Chevrolet will make a comemorative 40th ann. edition.

Although I wish they wouldn't.

It's sacrilege to have an ann. edition after a stopped production.
Did the Impala have a 40th ann. in 1998? Did the Monte Carlo have a 30th ann. in 2000? Of coarse not because there was a break in production for both of them......therefore that would be stupid.

Like I said, there probably will be one though.
Will sell more cars that way.

Dream on. The 5th gen will never get an LS7 unless it is a $90,000 ZL-1.

so did the corvette
it's had plenty of anniversaries even though it stopped production in 83
even though it's only a year, it's still a break

It's not the same.

A gap in production for a model changeover is totally different than a GTO that went missing for 30 years, an Impala that had a break for about a decade, or even a Camaro that died for 6 years.

I wouldn't expect a 40th anniversary model, though I would expect "40 years" to somehow work it's way into marketing. Not just because the car was killed for at least 5 years, but because there is no marketing advantage in making a special edition of a brand new car the year it comes out. It already has demand, press, and public attention. It would be a waste of effort & money IMO.

With the way the competition keeps increasing the horsepower numbers to higher and higher standards, I wouldn't be totally shocked to see an LS7 in a 5th gen sometime down the line, perhaps built to more cost friendly specifications. Now, I am not saying it will happen, I just wouldn't be that blown away if it did. Gotta keep up with the competition, and all the Chargers, GT500s, Challengers ect, won't be pulling any punches.

Keep up with the competition? This is GM we're talking about.

Re: Assuming there will be an 07' Camaro...

Or how about those nissan 350zzzz's, 30yrs. ago, or what ever their so-called ann. ed was ? If there is a 5th gen? It will obviously have some form of an LS-based engine LS2 probably, and the LS7 size wise can't be much diff., I bet I could get it in there! As for GM putin' it in there, I also doubt it, not without the ZL1 pricetag, but I bet someone will! It would be pretty cool if they did though! I'm not sure they will make a 40th ed., but who knows at this point, it looks like they could be about to really shake things up with some killer new models! We will have to wait and see. Waiting Sucks!

Or, how about pearl or artic white with stripes in the 'burnt orange' color that was on the cars for the last couple of years?

Nostalgic but with a modern edge
