GTI on steriods ? Sweet car . With the Euro ford focus around , I have absolutely no clue why the appliance american version exists . I mean really If Ford decided to bring those cars here , it'd be all over ...Ford would just trounce the compact market . JMO

Well, honestly if they just brought over the real new focus, instead of this reskinned one we have it would be nice. Think about it though, in the 80's the europeans had the Cosworth Escorts and all we got was the XR4Ti. No IRS, no AWD, no twin cam turbo 2 litre. Once again we get shafted!

Re: 350hp focus rs

But then again... a Focus RS would probably cost about 30K.

Wouldn't the bean counters be concerned about the Rustang though?

Not that I agree with them, I'd love to see this car here.

Re: 350hp focus rs

That is sweet. I like the possibility of a turbocharged 3.0L I-6. Leaves the other 4 banger compacts in their dust. I'm a BIG fan of the old-school Cosworths and this would make for a nicer modern interpretation.

At this stage, we'd be VERY lucky if we even get the more pedestrian 217hp/236lb-ft Fwd turbo Focus ST.

Talking deprived as usual

You guys are soooo clueless....

Americans don't want performance cars, no sir! All we want to drive are petrol sucking pickups and cushy "sofas-on-wheels" ....

Let those pastry sucking Euros keep their "fast-cars" .... I want my ride to be as comfy as home so I can stuff my face with Micky-Ds french fries and Coca Cola...

I thinkt he concern would be that everybody would buy that focus instead of the rustang. And why not, it would get better mileage (lighter) and be faster than a GT.

Wow. If they can fit an engine that size under a hood and still have it look like the concept picture they show That hood will have to be much longer than it looks.

And yeah, you'd have a $30k Focus. And the day would come that you could get a focus cheaper and slower than a V6 Mustang, and more expensive and faster than a Mustang GT.

Somehow that's fundamentally wrong. Neat, but wrong.

Re: 350hp focus rs

it would be a steal at 30k. a straight six and more horsepower than an evo or sti for cheaper.

Not cheaper. They would all be around the same price as they would be in direct competition.

Who needs to be cheaper when you can be faster and have more potential?
