2013 Viper Pricing Announced - from $97,395*

* plus $1,995 destination charge.

2013 SRT Viper priced from *$97,395, new images released [w/video]

I'm wondering how this will stack up performance and price wise with the competition. Optioned up I think you can put it over $120K.

Guess you gotta pay to play. $100k used to be ACR territory. This is about a $10k-$15k price hike over the last generation Viper.

Wow, that's a a lot. I would have to compare this to a GTR. I'm not quite sure which one I would pick.

I would think the obvious competitor would be the ZR1 and they seem to be taking a page from Ford's playbook - A base Viper is cheaper than a ZR1 but optioned up it looks like it might be close to the comprehenisvely equipped ZR1 - although you do have the advantage of the huffer which makes getting lots of power from the LS9 relatively easy - a pulley and a tune (less than a grand) and your talking another 75-100hp for coupla hours worth of work right in your driveway.

Still nice to see though, wouldn't mind having a Viper myself if I had the scratch (frankly would like to have a garage with the new Viper, a Z06 and this last S-197 GT500 sitting next to one another - sigh... I can dream aobut it anyway).

Depends, do you want a third pedal or paddle shifters

I'm with you though, the GT-R does look tempting at this price comparison.

I always viewed the Viper as one of those cars that was expensive enough to be out of reach for most people. It's not like the Corvette, which is attainable if you have a decent job. So basically, the price doesn't surprise me in any way.

If the average Joe could afford the Viper it wouldn't be as desirable. Add to that, if the Viper were made affordable for the average Joe, it would be half the car it is and no-one would want it.
