Re: 2013 Malibu front end picture leaked
My thoughts have changed on this thing, still not a huge fan of the bar; but the overall car looks very good.
When will these be on dealer lots? 1st of 2012?

Looks really good on the outside, fixes the "dorkiness" of the current Malibu rear.
However, I think at least initially I prefer the design of the current Malibu's interior. I like the C2 Corvette-inspired dash design, this one looks a bit generic.
I just got back from vacation on which I put over 1200 miles on a Malibu rental. My wife and I were very, very impressed with it. It was an LT with nice looking 17" wheels in the taupe gray metallic color the wife really wants on her next car. I didn't even feel that the 2.4L left a lot to be desired, and got over 30 mpg with the cruise set near 80 MPH. An even more powerful 2.5L with more aggressive styling? Sounds fantastic.

Absolutely stunning, IMHO. They're following Hyundai's lead with well-shaped, modern, professional looks in mid-priced cars. The last Malibu was nice, but I think it borrowed from the Camry too much. Mostly generic looking. This new Malibu's lines move with purpose...definitely has a bang in its step and a certain edge to it.
A red car with a brown interior, though...No thank you. I could totally see owning one in a dark blue (Imperial Blue Metallic?) with a light gray interior. Just about any color other than red with brown interior accents.
This is a car I could see myself driving daily.

The car the interior shots were taken in is clearly not the red car. You can see the top of the hood outside of the windsheild, and it appears to be a dark colored car, looks dark gray to me.
I like the brown interior and tan colors too. I guess spending 10+ years with a 4th gen. F-Body and most of my work day in a Crown Vic PI has me burnt out on gray interiors.
I just bought a Pontiac G8 with an all black interior. Looking at pics. I was opposed to it, but after driving it, the all black grew on me.

Correct. Every image you ever see like that ("hero card/brochure shots/web site masthead") that is put out by Chevrolet/GM and probably every other automaker out there is one or the other or both. Countless hours are put into each and every image touching it up to ensure it is as close to perfect in every way. It gets to the point where there is more retouch than original in the image.
