For 2011, the 3.5-liter engine will live on as the Edge line's bread-and-butter, but it is being joined by Ford's first production application of a new EcoBoost 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, as well as the larger 3.7-liter V6 for the popular Edge Sport. In the case of the 3.5-liter, it produces 285 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque, while the Sport's larger 3.7 Ti-VCT V6 delivers 305 ponies and 280 torques on 87 octane. Ford is not yet releasing power and economy numbers on the EcoBoost engine, but it promises "class-leading" fuel efficiency, noting that the new powertrain should eclipse the original 2006 Edge by some 30 percent.
Does that mean the Ecoboost 4cyl. will match the Equinox's 32mpg? Also, I really like that new front end.

All new interior too!

The Edge Sport looks pretty good. GM has nothing on Sporty crossover side like this.

I really like how Ford is keeping things fresh.

Ford has really stepped their game up as well as GM. It's nice to see new top of the line products coming from both Manufacturers!

I think the Exquinox LTZ with its 19" wheels looks pretty sporty.

Time for a turbo GMC Terrain...Typhon would be a good name.

Looks quite sharp. Without seeing it in person, I think I like the chrome front end better than the blacked out look. The new interior styling is nice, too.

However, I am not sure I'm a big fan of LCD screens being spread all over the interiors of newer cars. It looks to me like that tachometer is not a real guage, but a display on the an LCD screen. In fact, it looks like the car has LCDs on both sides of the speedo (like the Fusion hybrid, I think). Plus a giant one in the center dash. I also don't know about that Sony head unit for the HVAC controls (or HVAC / stereo / nav, I guess).

I guess this is the way of the future. I sure how LCD screens have reached commodity status, so when one of those goes out, it isn't a $Arm.00 replacement part.

I may be old fashioned, but the guage cluster on a C6 Corvette is just about perfect for me. I know the LCD interface allows for infinite possibilities of information to be displayed, but I don't want that in front of my face in place of guages. I guess I'd better get used to the idea sooner or later...

Traverse has 3 rows of seats, Edge has 2. The Ford Flex and 2011 Ford cross over Explorer are what equal the Traverse.

Chevy Traverse
Wheelbase 118.9 in (3020 mm)
Length 205.0 in (5207 mm)
Width 78.4 in (1991 mm)

Ford Flex
Wheelbase 117.9 in (299 cm)
Length 201.8 in (513 cm)
Width 80.1 in (203 cm)

Ford Edge
Wheelbase 111.2 in (2825 mm)
Length 185.7 in (4720 mm)
Width 75.8 in (1925 mm)

Chevy Equinox
Wheelbase 112.5 in (2858 mm)
Length 187.8 in (4770 mm)
Width 72.5 in (1842 mm)

I miss the days when you could rotate a tachometer to have redline appear as 12 o'clock position...

Actually I like the Magnetti Marelli and to a lesser degree the Motec digital, or Stack info screens done for racing use. File this under "no way in hell of finding a way into street cars".

We have a few Edges in our fleet here at work. Definitely not as big as Traverse and fitting 3 adults in the back seat is a sqeeze. I miss the Tauruses they replaced.

You could say that in regards to just about any car

I'm not a fan of that IP. The tiny tach looks like an afterthought (or an LCD as 96_Camaro_B4C suggests) and is pretty much useless tucked in the corner over there. I also don't like the speedo with the 0 clocked to 6 o'clock and ending at 1 o'clock. The bottom of the speedo is completely cut off in this pic, and while it might just be the angle, some people do like their steering wheels high. I just seems more natural for a speedo to be symmetrical and 0 to be around 7 or 8 o'clock.

My guess is that it is LCD. Since you can only get an automatic I don't see the lack of a huge tach to be to big of a deal.

The styling reminds me a lot of my Torrent GXP, especially from the back and side with the fender flares around the wheel wells. But my GXPs 18" wheels look tiny compared to those 22" wheels.
