I was "scouting the enemy" and came across this pic (if already reported please disregard, and yes I looked before I posted...)

Re: 2009 Mustang concept
Not a very good article. Seems it was written specifically to either decieve or boost morale (both of writer and audience).
Those 2 pictures proported as a 2009 mustang are ridiculous!
The 1st is an early drawing of the current Ford Mustang. It was posted in some magazines. It's even in the Mustang book on the car's development, available at your local Barnes & Noble.
The 2nd picture (cut off for more dramatic effect) is a picture of a new Ford concept.
Finally, go through and read the whole article then think: "Did I learn anything??"
It's an article that some people call "Filler". Something written simply to take up space, but provide absolutely no information.

I should have known... What caught my attention was how much this 'concept' looked like a late model Fox body?!? - Good thing we actually have people in the know on this site...
Re: 2009 Mustang concept
Haha! "A potent 325-340hp." Ouch thats really gonna be enough with the LS2 as it is. Good Luck Ford its been nice knowing you've kept the females in mind with the Mustang. "Yea its got less power but its cuter than the Camaro and Challenger." Ford rep.

Do you want me to tally how many men bought Mustang GTs versus all LS1 F-bodies combined?
If I compare the gender breakdown of the Camaro SSs versus the Mustang Cobra or Mustang Mach1, you'd probally go into an estrogen crying frenzy.
By percentage, far more men buy Jaguars, Dodges (especially Magnums) than Camaros.
Also, the idea that women buy cute cars is assinie, and pretty damn retarded. Women focus on practicality. They look at a vehicle's utility, it's value, and it's practicality.
Pontiac has the highest percentage of female buyers of any brand... yes, Pontiac. Grand Am sure didn't look cute to me. Neither does Grand Prix, bub.
The veicle classification that has the highest percentage (and volume) of female buyers are small SUVs.
Large SUVs are either bought by or it's purchase is influenced by women by some estimates as high as 80%.
The vehicle with the highest concentration of female buyers is the Mitsubishi Esclipse. Next??? The Land Rover Highlander. Last I looked, it wasn't exactly cute.
Most every car that's popular with "Ricers" are also popular with women.... by gender breakdown..... far more than Mustang.
To further bust your bubble, Camaro demographics (overall) is within 4-5% of Mustang's (upper 60s to 70%, depending on the year). If you break down the V6 and V8 models, you'll see females edge out men 52 to 49% which is a bit more than Camaro's roughly 48 52% split in the opposite direction. But when you realize women make up 55% of new car buyers, you see the V6 Mustang actually nails the buying public. Want to compare V8s? Gender breakdown with the GT, Cobra, and Mach1 combined, it's dead even with Z28, SS, and T/A.
So, everytime someone says Mustang appeals to only "women",
.... or that it's bought by "girls,
.... or that women buy "cute cars,
You can point to that woman in the SUV in the next lane that's usually bigger than what you're driving, or point to one of the 65-70,000 men who bought the 2002 Ford Mustang when GM has a hard time moving 25-30,000 V8 Camaros (let alone the at least 80 to 90,000 who bought a Mustang last year), and realize whoever says those things are talking out their ****.
Re: 2009 Mustang concept
I will add this.
Guy, Ford is indeed planning on a 09 rehash of the Mustang. Interior is being updated also. I believe its another "re-engineer" like that of the 06 Explorer upcoming Expe and future Escape. But dont quote me on that. But you can quote me all day that Ford is working on the 09 Mustang!
Along with the F150. (And Foci)

The GT is the entry level performance mustang, There is still plenty of talk about an SE car with more power (300 HP Mach vs. 260 HP GT anyone??) than the GT as a mid level offering between the Shelby and the GT.
