Looks like Dodge got Chevy's idea in making the headlight shelf to create a area for extra downforce and seemed like they inproved it with the area between the headlights and having no grill. That's going to create alot of nose downforce but that bottom grill looks ulgy but if the street charger has a grill like that and aggressive headlights in the front I can see this taking some cues from the 99 concept.

if i lent much merit to the nascar body to reflecting the street, id go ahead and say that that thing is really really ugly, but im hoping otherwise

 

Note the Dodge crosshair grille mounted very low down (check out the orange area).

yes the car looks ulgy now of course everyone thought the Monte Carlo Nascar Stock Car was ulgy.......wait a minute bad point lol. But I think of it as in turms of exageration. The lip shelf part on the Nascar car and the grill is basically a blown up version of the Monte carlo nose of the street and it's smoothed out. The aero wars are happening in NASCAR again and I believe Dodge has a hit on their hands it looks like it will create a lot of front downforce. But the headlights area seems like they could support lights in the style of the Car and Driver Drawing and the Magnum but probally more edgy. And the bottom grill it reminds me alot of the 99 concept and with GuionM saying the Charger was sleek I see that maybe Car and Driver might have got the side of the charger right but it might be sleeker like GuionM says. With what info we have I can picture the charger having an aggresive nose and borrowing alot from the 99 concept as it seems like it will be but with the LX platforms dimentions and height that Car and Driver's pic has. Maybe I have hit it spot on but maybe I am totally off LOL I don't care I think the Charger is going to be a Big Bad Bold Beast of a car.

 

guys its NASCAR. they havent had anything in common with a street car in almost 20 years. its just a plastic body with different stickers and a slightly different grille. ill wait for the street car to arise before saying if its ugly.

until then, i still hate NASCRAP.

Yeah, look at a NASCAR versions of the Monte Carlo and Taurus and tell me if you could draw the real car based on those racing "stock cars."

All Winston (oops, Nextel) Cup cars have basically the same freaking body now. Not a single proportion is in common with the production vehicle. Looking at that car, I don't see the skyscraper-high beltline that is a hallmark of the LX body. It looks just like the Taurus and MC but with a different front end.

Speaking of that front end: people used to call the later versions of the 4th gen a "catfish"...
