Seems very nice. I would like to have some pictures of a 3/4 view of the whole car but oh well. I like the interior too. Are those the shifter paddles on the steering wheel?

RiceEating5.0 12-28-2002 11:11 AM

that front end...:dead: :barf:

guionM 12-28-2002 11:11 AM

They are. :)

Sixer-Bird 12-28-2002 11:20 AM

Very nice. The interior looks great, and I love the new body style. My only complaint is that they need to stretch the spoiler to where it goes all the way to the tail lights. The way it is now, it looks like they put the spoiler from the Sunfire on the GP.

Meccadeth 12-28-2002 11:25 AM

You know, I can't even tell the difference from that car and any of the other Pontiac cars. They all look the same to me. If I analyze some pics for a while I might be able to tell the difference. This is a view from the public eye.

Darth Xed 12-28-2002 11:48 AM

Hmmm...

I don't mind the front end.

The back end looks blocky. This might be primarily because of the bad spoiler.

I want to like the interior, but it, too , looks blocky to me. I'm not a fan of fake (assuming it's fake) aluminum trim, either. And the grid-like printed patern on the guages is straight out of 1985!

The steering wheel looks bulbous, too...

What is the point of writing "Competition Group" under GTP?! I don't get it...

It could be worse though.... I'll give it a rating of a 6 out of 10 based solely on the pics Ive seen....

Sounds like a performance package. Kind of like the ws6 firebirds i assume.

I wouldn't buy one, but it looks much better than the current car. The power is also reported to be higher than the current one by 15 hp.

Still using the same old 3800-series warhorse I see. Only American manufacturers can get away with such old tech...

What is the difference between this and a base Grand Prix GT? Speaking visually, it dosen't look any different.

And I concur, the spoiler has got to go.

15 higher than the current supercharged 3800? Or 15 higher than the current Grand Am V6 (which would be pathetic for a supercharged 3800)?

I kind of thought the "Competition Group" moniker was silly too. Who the heck are they competing against besides their own bureaucracy? Not a single production-based Pontiac competes in any form of sportsman-level motorsport in the US. Not in NHRA, not in SCCA, not in any sort of Touring Car or Rally series. Other than a single turbocharged Sunfire running in the import drag racing series (made of GM-sponsored Unobtainium), there is nothing. I don't have to tell you guys the last car to do so is now dead.

As far as NASCAR and NHRA goes, don't even go there. Like I said--"production-based."

they do look alot better in real life (seen one at the mall )

kizz 12-29-2002 12:05 AM

It works for me.. I'll give it a tentative 6 out of 10 till I can get a better shot of the wheels. Unfortunately as usual, they seem to have decreased the production wheel diameter by one or two inches from the concept, in this case the G-Force, giving it an overall cheaper look at the wheels. SSR is the same way, if anyone noticed. Gone is the massive depth and big radius with that "6 out of 5" look. Anyway back to this, I like the name "Competition Group". just has a mature Pontiac ring to it. Inteiror looks good. I gotta to try out those paddles firsthand. that's gotta be cool.

Chuck! 12-29-2002 02:51 AM

That interior is a dead ringer from the CTS.
