Stock SS dicarbon shocks...
basically guy selling barely used ones....
how do they compare to the slp takeoffs? any difference. |
The only IMPROVED DeCarbons that I know of were the very rate early 1LE setup, all others so far as I know are the same, if thats true he didn't pay for a suspension package upgrade, although I thought ALL SS cars got 1LE springs, perhaps I'm mistaken.
|
yeah... I was htinking similar things... he ordered Bilstein package for his SS, it didn't come with it took it to hte dealership they upgraded it and gave him his old suspension stuff for free.
Since he was charging double what SLp takeoffs cost I was thinking maybe they had some value. |
Good use for Decarbon's -> trash can, or to put back on the vehicle when you go to sell it :)
|
With shipping, the DeCarbons cost twice as much as the listed price from SLP from what I've heard. So $50 for all four shocks, and $50 shipping? Sounds kinda crappy but thats what I've heard.
|
this guy was talking $100 + shipping.
|
I bought the SLP takeoff decarbons a few months ago. I'm pretty sure I paid $50 for the shocks and $10 for shipping.

99 and newer, I think, the stock SS suspension is a regular Z28 suspension.
Before that, it was the same as a WS6 suspension. The WS6 suspension had stiffer 1LE springs and stiffer DeCarbon's to match them. So, the SLP takeoffs are the same as Z28 or Trans Am. The WS6 or older SS stuff is 1 step better. |
I wouldn't put Decarbons on anything. The front shocks don't seem to be too horrible, but the rears are really bad.
