nitto drag radials for auto x
nitto drag radials for auto x
i had them in the rear last time, and they seemed to "push" the car, since the fronts 255/45/17 falkens tended to understeer? i am wondering if drag radials up front would help with traction? they seem to grip well.... of course i would run them at 30-33 psi.
this will be on a road course....should i use the falkens or some nitto 555r's?
any input is appreciated.
thanks
brian

Nitto DR's, especially the 17's, work very well on autox or road course. They also make the 555RII, which is basically a drag radial with a stiffer sidewall. I have been using them for street/race tires all year and am very happy with them.

If you're really serious about AutoX you will get a dedicated set of of sticky tires with the appropriate sidewall stiffness.

For autox, you will want stickies up front. I agree that a dedicated set of autox/RR tires is better. I use the 555RII for street (and occasional autox), and Kuhmo Victoracers for auto/track events. You can get stock 16x8 Firebird wheels for next to nothing, and a set of 245/45/16 Victoracers and be set!
