LG Motorsports Harness Bar
*sigh*
Well, after ordering two days before christmas (maybe bad move on my part - bad timing?) and receiving no notification that it shipped, ever (although finally getting a shipping number that only said "billing information received", which could be UPS's fault), I finally received my harness bar this past Friday. But it didn't include the submarine brackets or any hardware
.
I called them on Friday about the brackets, they said "sorry, we'll ship them out air, they'll be there Wed" and I said "ok". Then called back because I realized there was no h/w, and they said "oh, it just reuses the stock seatbelt bolts." And I believed them (Rick)
.
So I tried to install it today, and sure enough, the seatbelts only use a single bolt, and the harness bar has two bolts to a side. I got some nice grade 8 bolts (thanks whoever helped at A2Z Performance) that I managed to get to work with the passenger side, but the driver's side has absolutely no clearance, and I'm having trouble getting the bolt in. I'd get a smaller bolt, but right now I have the nut and washer jammed in between the fenderwell and the bottom of the seatbelt bracket, and trying to put the bolt in from the top (the opposite way on the other side, since it has more room). This of course means that the bolt can only be just so long, and I just don't like that idea...
Can anyone tell me what actually did come with the bar for the driver's side? Are you supposed to put a bolt in the bottom that has a washer-integral head? nut on the bottom with washer integral (grade 5 was most I could find that had the washer integral to the nut)? Would that even save any space?
I know it's Holiday/New Years, so I'm not blasting LG on the one hand - I can understand that it might be hectic. On the other, I did order these parts and got absolute **** for service, and I'm pretty pissed off about that.
EDIT: Not to mention that the bar itself is scratched through the powdercoat on the passenger side (1" or so) and I'm leaving town Friday for 3 months... so yeah.
Thanks,
Dan

Call and talk to Lou himself or Louis and tell him the problem you had with hardware. He will take care of you I promise.
I have the LG harness bar and you should have 4 bolts with 4 nuts to bolt in the back. I didn't use their sub bar, but you should be able to use the stock nuts. For my sub bar, I cut a piece of flat stock about 1-inch wide.

Many companies prefer to ship things non-powder coated BECAUSE it is almost inevitable they will be scratched on the way to your door, and that is why nearly every company will warn you about that as well. Grab some touch up paint and thats about all you can do.
Good luck on the bolts
Good luck on the bolts
First heads up on the powdercoating thing I've heard - thanks and will take that into consideration (hell, it's on the passenger side, so who cares, right?
)
I think I'll just get a shorter bolt and use it - I have everything else now. Just don't think I need this hassle. I know Lou is a stand-up guy, and so that's why I wasn't really yelling at him - I've talked to him on the phone before and he was a great help.
To me, it's just the old "head guy is great, people under him suck" thing that's going on
But the bar is damn nice!
I wanted to get this all settled before I left, since I'll only be back for a day before I grab the car and leave again...ah well. I'm going to have to wait on the harnesses and VS camera mount anyway...

I wanted to post publicly that I received not only the submarine brackets (which I was expecting, although not today), but also all the hardware and a wonderful instruction manual (complete with typos
). I highly recommend LG and figure these problems were just a fluke due to the holiday seasons.
Thanks once again,
Dan
EDIT: Me speak Engrish.

Apparantly this happened to a number of people who ordered shortly before Christmas. Probably had to do with all the craziness with the holidays and discounts and such. I talked to Lou a number of times and he was real nice and helpful. Hopefully my submarine bracket and hardware will come soon and I'll be already to go. I was lucky I guess and my powdercoating remained excellent. I highly recommend this bar, very quality piece
.

It's true about powder coated parts. There's not much the vendors can do about how their parts are treated by the shipping companies once it leaves their doors
I wonder how the hell Jet Hot manages to ship all their parts with relatively good luck ?? It must be a major daily headache for them ?!

So if you wrap everything in bubble wrap($$$), and stuff the box with enouch stuffing, it won't move
Not to flame LG, but both my Panhard bar and LCA's from them had obvious chips and in one spot a minor dig that had to of come from metal contact. It was pretty obvious that they were like that before they shipped out. I also had to re-tap one (almost did the other one too) of my LCA's b/c the threads weren't quite right. The products are nice but I've had quite a few minor little problems. Otherwise I'm very happy.
Hi GUys,
I just wanted to say thanks for the response to the Christmas sale, but the result of that was that we ran out of parts sooner than we thought. Then with the holidays, we could not restock as soon as we thought.
I am sorry for any confusion, and if any of you have any issues, jsut call me directly , and I will help you out.
I am not a sponsor anymore on this site, so I cannot get into too many details, but if you need to , just call us. And anyone can email me personally at Lou@lgmotorsports.com
thanks
