ZL2 Hood
Anyone have this hood? If so how do you like it any pics?

I'd like it better if the front "horns" came to the tip of the hood. They seem stubby for that big of hood.
First time I've seen that hood. |
i agree with ibanez , plus those rims are ugly too, i would never put it on my car unless it was free:D
|
Its supposed to emulate the ZL1 Camaro but it looks quite different
|
The ZL1 hood is much better IMO. The scoop is too tall and boxy looking for a sleek car like a 4th gen.
|
Do they make a ZL1-style hood for 93-97s?
|
maybe the factory does,... if you come to see it.. the zl1 hood is for 93-97 that was just implanted in the 98+ clip... it doesnt have the rounded portions on the headlights
|
I like the idea but the hood should be longer to the nose and a little wider like the Harwood ss hood:bow:

I dont like it, looks like the bigblock hood minus the front piece, bigblock looks way better then that

That is sooooo 2 months ago. :D I don't like it all now that I have looked at it a bit. |
Looks like a third gen ss hood.
|
It could be better, It'll look good on some colors but not others.. I wouldnt put it on my car. I'd get a 4 inch cowl :D

I emailed the guy who has those on ebay - we replied back and forth a little bit. If you read the thread linked above you'll hear a little bit about his work - and from his emails he seems like a really cool guy. He was thinking of posting on the forums for ideas for hoods. His comment to me was that he liked the "zl2" but didnt. He liked the "SS" but didnt... mainly because the sides of the hood are flat and blank compared to the stocker that has atleast some depth to it from the fake vents...
But he said if people from the forums had some interest in a new design they photoshopped together he'd try to make a prototype. Seems like a cool enough guy to me! But this hood could be better if the "horns" went farther foreward (but not the scoop itself, I dislike the "ultra-z" hood with a passion) |

I believe that the hood pictured in the first post was custom made...I don't believe anyone sells it...
|

That's a bad hood, but i don't know anyone with it
|
Originally posted by mvnatedog Wow, I'd never seen that one before. I'd put that on my car in a second.... thanks for the link! Anybody on the board has this hood? Is it basically the same as the RKSport big block? bigger? Anyone? |
Ok, I might be the only one, but I think this hood is really cool! :D I agree that it's different, but I think in a good way. It's aggressive and I think it looks mean. I love the DGMotorsports hood too, but I don't want to spend $700 on a hood. And yes, this isn't an SS hood. It especially isn't the "Big Block" or "Z-Roc" hood...personally I think anyone that likes those hoods is on crack. J/K ;)
Anyone know how to contact U.S. Exotics...I also like the idea that they would make a custom hood. :) |
Re: ZL2 Hood

Re: ZL2 Hood

:metal: |
Re: ZL2 Hood
I think the ZL1 hood rocks but damn, your talking close to 2K by time you get it on the car and painted. Add on $300 if you want to use the ram air function.
