wiring up a switch

how would i go about wiring up a switch to turn on the brights? my lever has never worked. i know I could just get a new lever, but in the end, i would bet the person selling the parted out car had never tested it, so I figured this would be easier, and I'd be hiding it out of the way anyways.

anyways, what would I need to do this? I assume i would need a two way switch of some sort and hook it up to the wiring for the brights? i'm not knowledgeable in the area of wiring or what not..

ummmm a brand new switch is only $8. and it would be about as hard/easy to just change it than to try to wire in a generic switch. just unbolt the steering column and its about half way down on the top outside. right there with the ignition switch. Your lever just pushes a rod that sits in a peg on the actual switch... It may even just need to be adjusted. Do a search on here and you can find a LOT of info on how to do all this with pictures and more detailed instructions.

Same switch/part number 3rd or 4th gen.

it might not be the switch when mine stopped working it was a peice of the collum itself that broke i had to get a new colum at a junk yard for 50 bucks.
