no one has tinted their own windows?

If you're going to do your back glass that way, work from the bottom up. I slightly overlapped the strips so that when the windows were down, there wasn't anything to catch the wind.

I also cut my strips. I had an 8' table, taped the tint down w/ masking tape. Then I measured off a 6"-wide section. Using a metal straight-edge (to ensure a good edge) I used a sharp razor and cut the strips... that easy. Just make sure the tint is taped down well. I think I even layed masking tape across the straight edge to make sure it didn't move when I was cutting.

is there another way to do the back glass? this may sound stupid, but are the strips horizontal or vertical?

horizontal.;)

You can also get a pre-cut sheet, made to fit the back glass. I don't know of a specific place to purchase that, though. The problem w/ doing the back in one sheet is that a flat piece of tint does not like wrapping around a curved surface. Try putting a piece of paper around a baseball.:)

I'd rather not do the job, g/f will waste 400 bucks on a purse and go cheap on this. typical. Thanks for teh advice

I just remembered. I've seen a 'curved glass kit' in stores lately. It's just a box of pre-cut strips. That might be the way to go for you. Good luck. ;)

I tried to tint my windows on my GSR, but that was a mistake. It's not that its hard at all, but there really is an art to it that only comes with experience. I took it to a shop and it is still perfect today with no peeling or bubbles 5 years later. Unless you have the time or patience to do it right I would just pay for it so you don't end up

I gave up on it the other day, i don't have the touch to do it. She can pay to have it done.
