Widening your rims....

Who has done it?
There's a guy in California that does this type of work, but I lost his contact information. Can somebody here help?
Also, my aluminum wheels are 17x9.5 I want to widen two of them to 17x11.5 to accomodate 315 tires in the back.
What's the right offset I want those wheels widen to, in order to minimize rubbing/hitting, and stuff like that?
Thx-Goose :)

Go to ws6.com, Keith has the info on the outfit in Monrovia, CA in a writeup on widening his 17x9 wheels.

If you read the writeup, you will find that the extra width can only be added at the rear of the wheel, so you can not specify "offset". You will simply end up with 2" more backspace than you have right now, and then you will either have to move the LCA's and do some major surgery to the inner fenders, or get fairly large spacers and move the wheels back toward the outside. By adding all the width in the back, you end up with the same front "depth" that your current wheels have, so you might want to think about how they will look just moved another inch or so toward the outside of the car.
