Where to get heavy duty head light harness?
 

I picked up some Ichabanez(???) lights or something on the recommendation of a post i saw saying that they were the best bang for the buck in illumination.

They are 135 watt bulbs... stock ones are what 55 watts?

Anyways im guessing the stock head light harness isnt capable of handling these bulbs...
Where can i pick up some quality harnesses...

Excellent! I just ordered some Nokya stage II 100w 9006's. These harnesses should be perfect.

edit: will I be safe to run the 100w bulbs on the stock harness till the new harnesses come in? How safe is it to run them with the stock harness?

Some say yes, some say no. Since your new harness is on the way and you won't be running them for too long, it should be OK.

My Stage II Nokyas are out, FX are in.

The headlights run off of 16 gauge wire. If you run a 30 amp relay in line with the lights, you can power, (also can be dependant on the relay), 2 - 130W MAX (with a 20% safety factor, which I would definitely use) Bulbs. Simply spoken, the 30 amp relay will provide all the power the 130W bulbs will need/use with 20% added in for safety, through the stock 16awg headlight wiring.

How to calculate that?
First use this formula to find the amperage output:
watts of device/volts of source = amps (current being drawn) or W / VDC = I

Example: 55w bulb/12volts (battery) = 4.6 amps
Most people say add 20% for safety...
4.6 + 20% = 5.5 amps

Then use this chart to determine the wire guage size needed. (From Reference Data For Radio Engineers)

You will not however get the most current flow with your stock headlight wiring harness. That's why you need a heavier-duty harness. The stock one will work - but not the the fullest.
