What is this inside the door?

Does anyone know what these little panels are called that are threaded and bolt to the hinge? Going to definitely need some new ones, but not sure where to look... or how to get these out.

I'm not sure what they are called but if I remember correctly they are just a small steel plate with three nuts attached. On my 98, they were removable from inside the door. Obviously your car is older, with steel doors, unlike the composite ones in my 98. What year?

When you posted 4 years ago you mentioned a 1974 Camaro.

yep, it is the 1974. I think its called a hinge plate, but nobody seems to sell them. Or know of a good way to remove them. Everyone else I've asked has had problems with it rusting too but no solution.

Can you pull the part out? If it's as simple as what Gary describes, should be easy to fabricate. Didn't see anything similar at the usual classic car parts outlets.

it will require cuttingcand welding inside a place where I dont really think I can get that to fit. Would it be worth it to rip the door skin off, and reskin it? Might be what I need to do to get in there.
