Exclamation T-Top tinted on inside/outside/IN the glass?!

I have a 96 z28, and the previous owner had some type of velcrow thing hanging from the t-tops (dont ask I have NO clue what it was, lol). Now that I got the velcrow things off, there is a good 1/4 inch of BAKED ON glue. What can I use to get it off without hurting the tint/glass coloring? Is it on the inside, outside or IN the glass, thanks---

... Do you mean the T-Top covers? They are panels that attach to the tops using velcro, they protect the interior from the sun and such...

Id try using some glue remover that softens it up.

Oh, I didnt even know they had those, I bet thats what he used the velcrow for. I will try some lighter fluid first, then go out and buy some glue remover. The glass is tinted INSIDE and not a film or anything I can rub off, right?!---

Re: T-Top tinted on inside/outside/IN the glass?!

Im not sure, glass is usually tinted on the inside, so I wouldnt use a razor or anything... When I had to get the tint off my hatch glass (a real pain if you dont read about it first, I tried just tearing it off and it left the film behind) I tried using any chemical that I could find to soften up the tint film, nothing, I tried paint stripper (the thick gel stuff that sits), lacquer thinner, gasoline, probally acetone, I ended up sitting out in the sun with a razor blade scraping it all off...

So I dont think lighter fluid or glue remover should hurt the tint.

I didn't know t-tops had tint on them. I always thought it was dark "smoked" glass from the factory. But I guess I could be wrong...

See that is MY question from the beginning, lol....I think it is smoked glass too; but I guess I will learn when I go scrubbing on it to get the glue off, lol ---

The T-Tops are smoked glass. I don't know of any factories that use plastic window tint instead of just smoking the glass.

Then again there were some early T-Tops which were Dot Matrixed unlike the current ones.

mine are dotted too but you can use a razor to take it off. do you know what works the best to soften up the glue believe it or not use hot steam. then use like adhesive remover. im going to be stipping the dotting off of mine and just getting 5% tint for them
