So what works on cleaning up hazing 98+ headlights?

Jsut wondering is there anything that can be done?

I was thinking of doing the baking mod and see "fogged" headlights go for cheap

is there anything that can be done to fix it?

Re: So what works on cleaning up hazing 98+ headlights?

You are in much luck indeed Eric.

The Eastwood Company has a couple of products for the job.

Here is the first... it is a plastic polishing compund that you use just like you were polishing metal.

This one is made specifically for headlights, and it should get the job done well too.

You might want to check out the two threads listed below.
This thread will give you lots of info on the first way and also some pics of a guys taillights that he used it on.
And this one just has a couple of little snippets, nothing spectacular, but you might wanna check it out none the less.

That should take care of you.

Re: So what works on cleaning up hazing 98+ headlights?

are there any compounds that i could pick up from a local store, such as autozone or discount, that would work just as well? i'm going to be needing to do this pretty soon as my headlights are fogging pretty quickly

i've also seen some people using mothers mag/aluminum polish, what is the technique with that and does it work just as well?

yep...i did...as listed in the other tread.

if i had to do it now...i would start with 1000grit w/d sandpaper, then switch to 2000grit.
then use some polishing compound to really get the shine.

If i remember correctly the polishing compound was alloy wheel cleaner, i'm not 100% sure though.
