Angry SLP must use some lousy paint!!

About 3 months ago, I noticed the paint on my hood and spoiler start to get a haze over them, like someone took a piece of steel wool to them. The haze wouldn't polish out, as a matter of fact it got worse. Then about a month ago, I noticed a corner of the hood had the clearcoat bubbling up, which in turn got worse after it rained recently to cover a 12" X 6" spot. SLP must have used some cheap clearcoat, because the factory painted parts of the car still look like new. I've owned it for over two years and I've used Zaino since Day One. I know the Arizona sun isn't the easiest on black paint, but it should have been as durable as the OEM paint at least. I was wondering if any other SS owners have had the same problem; maybe I just got a bad batch.

I've had mine since Nov 96 and hadn't had any problems with my paint. Actually, the front facia clear coat started coming off but the hood or spoiler hasn't shown any indication.

Just because one car is fine doesn't mean another one will be, too. Try to contact SLP and resolve this issue.. Maybe it's not that isolated of an incident.

I think there is someone on here (or on LS1.com, the latter I think) who has a '99 Hugger Orange SS with the same problems you describe.

My guess is they skimped on the quality of paint or clear.
