Think it would be possible to alter the 2nd/3rd gen rear window louvers to fit a 96 T/A?? or maybe fab some custom ones? hehe I always kinda liked them and it might look good/ be fun to try.

there was a louver kit for our cars on ebay last week, I bid on it but lost, it went for $65. I don't know what everyone has against window louvers, I think they look good and they are practical for blocking out the sun, they don't peel off like tint after 2 years and you can still see thru them perfectly unlike tint. The only downside is that they take a little more time to clean. For the $65 that piece went for it would have been cheaper to get that than tint too, plus the guy selling it was in baltimore which is less than an hour from me, I should have been more aggressive towards that auction.

LOL i had one of those on my 85 camaro!! It went airborne one day when i was going down I-81, big truck smashed it to hell! It was fun to watch in the rearview!:lol:

It probably looked like something out of the movies,
anyway I going to start seriously hunting down one of these for my car, too bad I missed the one on ebay, I searched the web a little but the best price i've found is at a local speed shop for $275, and ofcourse then i don't have to pay shipping, I would like to find another used one to save money, if anybody knows where I can get one please let me know, I'm gonig to post in the parts wanted section now. |

Those halo headlights are the stupidest mods I think. I think the fourth gen louvers are ugly, there are nly a few third gen louvers that look god. Luckily I just scored one for $13.50 on ebay. Should be here anyday.

would you all put a TA Ram Air hood on a vette?? or how about a TA spoiler??? Ofcourse not, Why does anything think putting vette wheels on a TA is any different???, the styles do not match and it is tasteless.
Everybody had these louvers on the 3rd gens, the bottom line is the 4th gens are not much different than the 3rd gens, the body shapes are basically the same, they are all hatchbacks with long low hoods, So why all of a sudden everbody hates louvers, they are practical and I'm seeing dozens of post on here about peoples's tint fading and peeling off, plus you all get the superdark stuff and then complain you can't see at night. |

Post up a pic of a T/A with vette wheels and post up a T/A with louvers and stock wheels like in the photo and see how many people say the vette wheels are ugly and how many people say the lovers are ugly...
Seems like your just pissed because you like the louvers and noone else does :( |

In all my years of going to the track and going to car shows and other F-Body events, I've only seen ONE 4th Gen with louvers on the rear hatch. It also had that chrome plastic door edge guard stuff all the way around the doors, and a ton of stickers and stripes.... so that sort of tells you what kind of taste (or lack thereof) we are talking about here.
Although it may seem "tasteless" to some to put Corvette wheels on a 4th Gen F-body, GM did just that when they chose to put the ZR1 style wheels on the 96/97 SS models...... think about it. :D |
The style dosent match? That is the second dumbest statement of all time, right after "louvers look good on 4th gens" As stated above, Chevy put the Corvette wheels on a Camaro, guess that style dosent match either.

you guys are complete idiots, yes GM put some Vette wheels on camaros NOT FIERBIRDS!. On camaro it's not as bad because camaro/corvette are styled similarly, the Firebird however is much different and thin spoked wheels look oddball on a beefed up car, hence the firebird gets beefed wheels. It's like when you see these bodybuilders posing in their thong bikinis, they look like complete morons, that's what you TA looks like in vette wheels

Oh boy :rolleyes: If you want louvers get them. You wanted peoples opinions otherwise you wouldn't have posted this. As for insulting someones vette wheels on a T/A, if you are going to insult something make sure it is worth insulting. Instead everyone laughs cause they KNOW vette wheels on a T/A ROCK! T/A's are awesome and vette wheels are awesome, so you definately can't go wrong with vette wheels on a T/A CASE CLOSED
