Showing car with custom painted hood

I am in somewhat of a dilemma about how to show my car. I got the hood painted with ghost flames, but now when I take it to a car show everyone else has their hood up and engine compartment displayed. I have a nice enough engine compartment, but do not want people to miss the paint job. What are some ideas I could try so that I can show both???

Disconnect the hood struts and put a ricer spring between the radiator shroud and the bottom of the hood. Just make sure to put something soft on the top of the spring so you don't damage your hood.

Oh yeah, and for those that don't know me, I was joking about it being a "ricer" spring. ;)

So the hood would open like one on the corvette's? I thought about doing something like that, but I am not sure where to get the hardware to accomplish something like that. Let me know where a good place would be to get these items

No, your hood wouldn't open like a Corvette.

There are struts that push your hood up whenever you start to lift it. Don't confuse these with the hinges that hold your hood on. Disconnect the hood STRUTS. This means if you wanted to fully pop your hood, you would have to prop it up with something to hold it up.

Don't use a prop rod to do this.

Take a big spring, like from an Eibach lowering kit (just an example, you can use whatever you want), and set it on top of your radiator shroud. Once you have done this, lower the hood down on it, and your hood stays open about 12" or so. That lets people see under your hood, while still appreciating the paint job on it.

Okay, I guess that would work, kinda like if you were to use a short hood prop on your car. I think I may have some springs in the garage, but I may have to cut them down some. I have not really seen other people do this, but then again I have not been showing the car very long either.

Does anyone else have other ideas that might be worth trying too??

Ive seen it done befor the way he is saying. It looks good, thats what I was gonna do to show my car. I also have a custom painted hood.

you could make it a liftoff hood, so you have to lift it up to get it off, and put 4 little "rods" one at each corner that hold it up about 1 feet, level.
