scratch

i have interior scratches in my 98 ss on the panels on the side of the rear seats does anyone know how to get deep scratches out of them and give it that texture so it blends in when painted

::blinks:: I can't believe I never thought of that, that would probably work! But how would I match the texture?

Michael982 12-03-2007 04:20 PM

how would u use a heat gun to replicate the texture, someone recommended high build primer but it woulnt give it that texture

CALL911 12-03-2007 07:57 PM

I don't think it can be done, at least on any level that I would be happy with. I would just go to the local junk yard and pic up some new non-scratched ones. It probably won't cost much, and it will look better than trying to get everything consistant with a heat gun.

ive already tried going to junk yards and its hard to find them and my dad owns one so i didnt get lucky but i was thinking if i got one of those leather repair things that comes with those texture things the they sell for couches n stiff i can try it on the plastic but use the texture thing with something stronger like jb quick weld

I don't think that would work since those are for fabric, but it's a good thinking.

I think Call911 might be right though.
